Moniq is a professional dancer of many years.  Formally educated in folkloric & cabaret styles, she has in recent times steered towards the more darker and creative styles of Tribal Fusion belly dance with the desire to be more involved with the alternative fringe artist collection of Brisbane.  Moniq currently teaches & performs at World Fusion Dance Company, and is apart of the new troupe 'Opalesque', and also with DJ Shards to form the duo 'K!nd23D' ....


History..... Moniq discovered the wonderful world of middle eastern dance during a Maleny (now Woodford) Folk Festival 1989 dance workshop at the young at of 11.  Completely consumed by this style, she returned to her home town of Townsville with a new passion in life...Belly Dance!  There she would start performing in the only Lebanese Restaurant at the age of 16, and perform at various events including frequent apperances at the Multicultural Festival.  At 18 she started teaching her own classes and founded Inanna Middle Eastern Dance School.

After travels to Egypt & Turkey, Moniq relocated to Melbourne where she met and joined the famous FireWorks Dance Company.  Dancing alongside one of Australia's most beautiful and talented dancers Melusina, Moniq was blessed with a tonne of experience and the joy of sharing many performance adventures with such wonderfully creative souls.  It wasn’t long before the itchy feet gave way to an epic year long adventure back to Turkey, Eastern Europe and South America.  And somehow found her way to Brisbane and performed solo as well as alongside other Brisbane creative acts such as Pheonix Fire Tribe.
